I am an international student from Japan.
Now I am taking a class about political communications in a graduate school in U.S.
At this class, I took the "World's Smallest Political Quiz,"
and I realized that I was a libertalian.
Strangely, people in my country seldom consider their own ideologies.
So, that was my first challenge to know my own ideology.
But, the Livertalian means neither the Republican nor the Democratic.
Therefore, if I were a U.S citizen, it would be hard for me to choose MacCain or Obama.
"Which is my better candidate?"
Anyway, I need more information to answer this question.
I will write my thought about candidates in this blog.
Also, I got some information about Media's ideological bias in my textbook today.
According to Povich (1996), "although they were limited to Washington journalists...22 percent said they were liberal, 39 percent liberal to moderate, 30 percent moderate, 7 percent moderate to conservative, and 2 percent conservative."
Before seeing such data, I thought liberal and conservative people of journalists were half and half. So, I was very surprised at the data.
I came up with following questions immediately.
"Why are most journalists liberal?"
"What ideology does each media have?"
"Can Media affect citizens' ideology?"
I will also write my thought about these questions in this blog.
(It has been just 7 years since 9/11. I hope the world would be more peaceful...)
